SWAN Scholarship

Each year The SWAN Scholarship is awarded to a woman working or residing in Skagit County who holds an Associates, Bachelors, Masters or PhD Degree and is pursuing an enhanced standing or competence in her business or profession. It has been a great privilege to provide these scholarships on an ongoing basis. If you or someone you know qualifies, please be encouraged to apply.

SWAN Scholarship Eligibility and Requirements

Name: The scholarship shall be known as the SWAN Scholarship.

Donor: Skagit Women’s Alliance And Network (SWAN) by way of Sponsorships

Amount: Up to $1500.00 awarded annually in October

Eligibility: An application may be made by any woman who:

  • Works or resides in Skagit County;
  • Holds an Associates, Bachelors, Masters or PhD Degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Is pursuing an enhanced standing or competence in her business or profession described as follows:
    • A Professional Designation (e.g. Certified Financial Planner, CLU, CHFC, CEBS)
    • Post graduate study at an accredited college or university leading to an advanced degree;
    • Is currently enrolled in the program described in above;
    • Demonstrates financial need;
    • SWAN Board members and their relatives are not eligible for the scholarship.

Candidates are required to:

  1. Complete the download-able application form and mail in or you may also submit electronically via the online submission form;
  2. Include two letters of recommendation;
  3. Attach a copy of official college transcripts.

Applications must be postmarked by June 30, 2010.
